CeBIT Open Source 2012 - Call for Projects

Linux New Media AG, in cooperation with CeBIT, now offers free booths at the largest IT event in the world. The 2012 CeBIT trade show will be held March 6-10 in Hannover, Germany. Chosen projects for the 2012 CeBIT event will also be featured on the www.linux-magazin.de, linuxpromagazine.com, and linux-magazine.com sites.

Guidelines for the CeBIT Open Source 2012 Call for Projects

Conditions:

  • The project should be ready to present its contents and goals in a well-defined and informative manner to interested trade show participants.
  • The project should prove that it has a clear idea how to present its concepts and topics understandably.
  • The project booth must be manned during the entire trade show by members who are especially attentive to participants.
  • The booth must be set up and operating from the beginning of, and throughout, the trade show.
  • The project should sufficiently notify its community about its participation in CeBIT Open Source 2012.
  • The project should make the general public aware of its participation in CeBIT Open Source 2012, such as by reference to the CeBIT website in press releases.

Determination of Participation:

An international jury chosen by Linux New Media will evaluate each application based on the submitted information and source documents, with further communication to follow. Therefore, it is important to identify at least one contact person and the responsible parties for the project.

Important Criteria for Project Selection:

  • Only noncommercial projects with a strong connection to Linux or Open Source will be considered for a booth sponsored by CeBIT Open Source and Linux New Media.
  • The vitality and activity of the supporting community behind the project plays a major role in project selection.
  • The project should provide topics relevant to the business world.
  • The project should be innovative and original.
  • The project should credibly ensure that its participation as exhibitor involves a sufficient number of presenters.

Projects must submit a web application through the form below.

Application Deadline: December 18, 2011

The jury will select the winning projects; Linux New Media will contact the winning applicants. In case a selected project, even if nominated, subsequently proves not to be suited as an exhibitor, Linux New Media has the right to substitute another project from its list of winners.
