Some developers condemn the use of debuggers, but in many cases, a debugger is a programmer’s last hope. In this Month’s Perl Snapshot, we’ll look at Perl’s integrated debugger.
Linus Torvalds does not like debuggers. In Linus’s opinion, it is far too easy to throw a piece of code together and use a debugger to beat some sense into it. Alternatives to debugging do exist. For instance, the careful application of logging removes the need for debugging in many cases.
