Klaus Knopper is the creator of Knoppix and co-founder of LinuxTag expo. He currently works as a programmer, teacher, and consultant. If you have a configuration problem, or if you just want to learn more about how Linux works, send your questions to: klaus@linux-magazine.com

Klaus: I truly need your assistance. I have downloaded Knoppix to my hard disk drive, but I am unable to activate it from there. I have attempted to find a remedy on
the Internet, with no results.

  • Windows 7 is located on the C partition
  • Knoppix is located on the K partition (11GB)
  • Kubuntu is located on the U partition (11GB)

Both Windows 7, Home Premium, and Ubuntu are active by command/ request. Knoppix does not show up on the Windows screen where I am able to make a selection.

Trusting to hear from you in the not too distant future. Peace, A.J.
