1 GHz Thin Client at a Competitive Price
VXL Instruments is offering one of its thin client models at a discount right now. The Linux device has a VIA C7 CPU that runs at 1 GHz.
The VXL Itona TC4331-LI model will be available from dealers for around 230 euros until the end of September.
The thin client has 32MB Flash memory and 128MB DDR RAM, is Wake-on-LAN capable and can also boot off the Ethernet network via PXE. The graphics card supports a resolution of 1600x1200 at 70 MHz with 24 bit color depth.
The box with the integrated power supply is rated at 11 watts. It has four USB 2.0 ports, two serial and one parallel port and PS/2 connectors for mouse and keyboard.
The operating system is VXL's own Gio2 Linux firmware based on kernel 2.4.26. The box includes Citrix ICA client 9.0, VNCviewer, an RDP client and a Tarantella client. In addition to this, the client can use NFS and Samba services, and also supports the Simple Network Management Protocol, SNMP. The VXL user interface supports German, English and French language options.
