CAINE, an Ubuntu live CD with forensic tools, is now available in version 1.0.
The collection of tools, brout together at the CRIS security centers at the Italian university of Modena and Reggio Emilia, unites numerous forensic tools under one graphic interface, evaluates results and formats them into a report via a report-generator.
The release 1.0 contains already familiar programs like Autopsy 2.21, Sleuthkit 3.0.1, and Foremost. The website shows a long list. Also included is the Windows-specific tool Wintaylor. New is the text mode operation, bug fixes for the NTFS 3g driver and the program gtkhash.
CD and USB images for CAINE 1.0 are available for download on the project webpage.
