Mozilla Releases Firefox 3.6.4, Complete with Crash Protection

Jun 23, 2010

Linux users don't have to worry about third-party plugins killing the browser.

The Mozilla Project released Firefox 3.6.4, a security and bug-fixing release with one notable feature for Linux and Windows users –– enhanced crash protection.

Firefox 3.6.4 isolates third-party plugin processes and disables them whenever a plugin crashes. This allows for continued browsing without having to restart the browser. To reset a plugin error, users simply have to reset the page. Firefox 3.6.4 identifies and isolates plugin crashes in Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime and Microsoft Silverlight.

To download Firefox visit Firefox.com or if you're already using Firefox, select Check For Updates from the Help menu.
