Thin Client Specialist Neoware Acquired by HP
Hewlett-Packard has now completed the acquisition of Neoware. The thin client computing and virtualization solution provider will add value to HP's Linux portfolio.
At the time of completion, Neoware was valued at US$ 214 m. HP offered shareholders US$ 16.25 per share. Neoware is now part of the Business Desktop unit of HP’s Personal Systems Group.
HP claims to be the global leader in thin client solutions for Windows XP and in the CE sector. Neoware is targeted at the Linux market. "The integration of Neoware will enable us to offer the industry’s broadest portfolio of remote client solutions" says Alberto Bozzo, vice president and general manager, Commercial Products, Personal Systems Group, HP Europe Middle East and Africa.
