Nvidia Updates Its Linux Graphics Driver

After a few beta versions and months of news blackout, Nvidia has now released a robust version of its proprietary graphics card driver for Linux. Driver version 177.80 is to include 25 enhancements, among them the highly awaited support for GeForce GTX series cards.

Atheros Releases HAL Code for WiFi Chips

The U.S. chip producer Atheros has decided to forward the development of Linux drivers for the 802.11a/b/g-WLAN chip by making the Hardware Abstraction Layer code (HAL), available under an open source license.

Eee-Box: Mini Desktop Doubles RAM in its Linux Version

Eee manufacturer Asus has expanded its sub-notebook series with a desktop version. The Eee Box with the Intel Atom processor is available in Linux and Windows XP.
