The combination of a Linux computer and an Android smartphone opens up a world of options for interaction. For example, the Gmote app lets you use your smartphone to control media files on your PC. Another useful app that follows the same clientserver principle is Remote Launcher. Remote Launcher lets you launch programs on a Linux PC from your Android smartphone with a single click (Figure 1). Assuming you have the correct settings, you can even boot up or shut down your PC from on the road.
