FTP Clients Gone? Is there no graphical FTP client on Knoppix? There used to be gFTP, but it disappeared in later versions.

In fact, there still are FTP clients, although you won’t find a dedicated FTP client in many distro menus anymore because the FTP and other, more secure network protocols (like SSHFS or SFTP) are now integrated into the virtual filesystem layer of the desktop, in KDE as well as Gnome. Also, the lightweight PCManFM of LXDE can use FTP through GVFS. Just enter your FTP URL like this: ftp://username@hostaddress/path/to/files
