Beta 1: Opera 9.6 with RSS preview

Sep 11, 2008

RSS preview, Atom-feeds and improved bookmarking facilities are the new features in the upcoming version 9.6 of the Opera Web Browser.

The feed preview will allow the user to see news deliveries before having to subscribe to them. New is also the feature Opera Link, which saves typed history from the address bar as a bookmark, speed dial or personal notes.

Opera has also spared a thought for users with low bandwidth. This means for IMAP users, Opera will only synchronise new mails and attachments will be ignored unless requested. The low bandwidth helps too with POP3. Opera will not download more than the first 100 lines of a message unless asked. The user is also given the option to override the bandwidth restrictions.

Information about all the changes in the Linux version can be found in the latest changelog.
