Second Update for Debian Etch

The Debian project has just released version 4.0r2 of its Linux distribution. The second update for the current stable release, Etch, mainly comprises bug fixes.

The bug fixes relate to the Apache 2 Web server, the Pluggable Authentication Modules (PAM) and the PostgreSQL-Datenbank. Security updates have been added for Evolution, Samba, PHP versions 4 and 5, the Iceweasel browser and the Iceape mailer, as well as for the Linux kernel 2.6.18. a complete list updates is included in the official announcement.

The Debian Installer with and was also updated to support the latest kernel. This makes the old netboot and floppy images obsolete. The project has published updated files for Debian 4.0r2 ohen its mirror servers.
