The Unified Kernel, alias Longene, set itself the goal to natively support Windows programs. The newest version upgrades the Kernel version to 2.6.30.
The Linux Unified Kernel is a slightly modified Linux Kernel inclusive of a special Wine version. The newest Unified Kernel upgrades the Kernel to 2.6.30 and fixes a few bugs in registry and process management. Apart from the source code, complete packages are available to download for Red Flag, Fedora and Ubuntu, so that a patch isn't necessary.
For the next Unified Kernel release, developers plan to support multi-core machines and the ext4 filesystem.
