KDE 4.0 Release Postponed Once More

Sep 07, 2007

The developers of the KDE desktop environment have again postponed the release of the next major version.

The new release date is now December 11. According to a statement by Sebastian Kügler, the first release candidate will be published October 30, with the second RC just 14 days later. Kügler, who is a member of the KDE board, said that December 20, that is just before Christmas, was a very unfavorable time for a new release.

The Beta2 was just released yesterday to give KDE fans a sneak preview of the enhanced usability concept announced by developers.
