Ted Ts'o Joins Linux Foundation

Dec 05, 2007

US kernel developer Theodore Ts'o will be joining the Linux Foundation for the next two years as Chief Platform Strategist.

After this period, Ts'o will be returning to his current employer IBM where he has worked since 2001, more recently as a technical executive in the realtime Linux field.

Ts'o will represent the Linux Foundation on committees that focus on technology, end user needs and the industry as a whole. Ts'o himself says he will be looking to promote the Linux Standard Base (LSB).

Theodore "Ted" T'so has worked on the kernel since 1991 and was one of the first kernel developers in the US. He currently maintains the filesystem utilities for Ext 2 and 3, and is also working on kernel integration of Ext 4. Besides this, T’so also holds offices in organizations such as the IETF and Usenix.
