The Japanese company Access has released version 3.0 of its Linux Platform and introduced the Access Linux Platform mini, a platform aimed at mobile devices.
With its enhanced user interface and compatibility with LiMo, Linux Platform 3.0 represents the flagship of the company. Linux Platform mini is aimed at the wider spectrum of price-sensitive mobile devices, from cell phones and low-end smartphones to portable media players and devices for the automobile industry.
Minimum configuration for the hardware is a 200Mhz CPU, 32Mbyte RAM and 32Mbyte ROM with a license being required for both platforms.
In 2005, Access acquired Palmsoft, then the guardians of palm operating systems. Since the takeover, Palm OS has been renamed Garnet.
