The Auto DJ keeps the playlist full

Alongside the main developers at Novell, more than 30 contributors worked on the new release. Programmed in Mono, the player comes with new shuffle modes and a so-called Auto DJ which keeps playlists filled with endless music.

Compared to its forerunner version 1.5, the Banshee team have added support for further phones, including the Samsung Galaxy Android Phone and WebOS devices from Palm. With more than one hundred bugfixes, the latest version is considered to be extremely stable.

Banshee 1.5.1 requires Mono 1.9.1 and Gstreamer 0.10.3. The player, as source code and for various distributions as complete packages, is available for download from the Banshee homepage.
