FAN 1.0 Installs Nagios Plus Tools

Fully Automated Nagios (FAN) is a CD distribution that should simplify the installation of Nagios along with numerous tools on a network monitoring server. FAN 1.0 is the current version.

The FAN CD-ROM is based on the Enterprise-class CentOS platform that, in turn, is based on GPL source code from Red Hat. The developers have updated 137 packages from the upstream CentOS for the current version. While the standard CD installs a minimum of software, additional CentOS tools are available.

The distribution contains the Nagios 2.11 core monitoring application along with its numerous plugins, the Centreon Nagios frontend, the NaReTo 1.1 reporting tool, and the NDOUtils 1.4 module that allows exporting to a MySQL database. NagVis 1.2 is also included for configuring topologies.

The 430-Mbyte ISO image is available on the FAN download page. FAN 2.0 promises an upgrade to Nagios 3.
