Kernel Development Weather Forecast

The Linux Foundation now offers a page with information on current and planned kernel development dubbed the "Linux Weather Forecast".

The page lists and explains current kernel features. It also gives users a sneak preview of features which will be making their way into the official kernel, or the kernels of major distributions, in the future, and it provides links to sites with more details. The page's "Head Meteorologist" is Jonathan Corbet, the editor in chief of commercial Linux news service provider, LWN.

Readers of Kerneltrap.org or LWN will probably be familiar with the content of the page, according to a comment by US online journal Ars Technica. The target audience is Linux users who already possess basic knowledge of underlying kernel technologies, but do not subscribe to mailing lists or other information services to keep up to date with kernel development.
