Linux New Media Launches Smart Developer
Lawrence, KS, USA: Linux New Media USA, LLC, announces the launch of Smart Developer , a new print publication for developers and decision makers in the mobile application development industry.
Smart Developer will be published quarterly and will cover development tools and coding techniques for all major smartphone platforms, including Apple iOS, Android, MeeGO, WebOS, and Blackberry. The magazine also includes phone and mobile app reviews, as well as feature stories on important developments in the mobile industry.
"The whole high-tech world is buzzing about the emergence of mobile app stores and the growing cottage industry of custom mobile development," says Smart Developer Editor in Chief Joe Casad, "Other periodical offerings were all targeted to end users, and mostly novice end users. We saw the need for a smart, technical magazine for the experts who are actually writing all these mobile apps, and for other programmers and industry professionals who are interested in joining or watching the app-development field. Smart Developer readers are mobile app programmers, power users, mobile sales and integration specialists, and managers who are looking for insights on bringing their products and services into the mobile arena."
Smart Developer provides a unique opportunity for vendors who build mobile platforms, hardware, and tools to reach a core audience of readers who deploy and use those tools in a real-world setting. According to Smart Developer Associate Publisher Rikki Kite, "This isn't just a niche market. Mobile development is a burgeoning industry that is just getting off the ground, and we're excited that Smart Developer will have a special role in telling the world about it."
In 2007, Linux New Media opened a North American office in Lawrence, Kansas. In addition to the new Smart Developer magazine, the company launched Admin: Network & Security magazine in 2010 and Ubuntu User magazine in 2009. Editors in the rapidly growing North American office also produce the monthly print magazines Linux Pro Magazine , Linux Magazine (international English edition), and special publications including Google Tools, Powerhouse Perl, and The Linux Shell Handbook.
