Gifts for Geeks

I have to admit that I didn't ask for any geeky gifts this year (unless you count this pepper mill, which is both practical and geeky). Instead, I created a wish list full of good old-fashioned books (and by books, I mean fiction novels and cookbooks PRINTED ON PAPER). Even my daughter kicked it old school and created a wish list packed full of paperbacks, but she earned extra geek points for her manga series request. Meanwhile, my spouse has hinted that I'll be receiving the Tauntaun sleeping bag that he really wants. He's a keeper.

Over on LinuxToday.com Carla Schroder posted a list of 7 Fabulous Gifts for Your Favorite Linux/FOSS Geek. Her list includes a good Linux sound card, a Tux keyboard, and the ever-practical rechargeable batteries.

For your crafty and geeky friends, Etsy is a good place to shop. Among other treasures you'll find plenty of penguins on Etsy, Pez USB flash drives, and geek-wear galore.

What other geeky gift ideas do you have for yourself or your favorite fellow geeks?

I want one.

Don, I don't know how I didn't know about the Squeezebox, but now I want one. Maybe this one: http://www.logitechsqueezeb...products/squeezebox-radio.html

How about a Logitech Squeezebox?

<a href="http://wiki.slimdevices.com...quot;>Squeezebox</a>? Any media player that has a wiki and interfaces with a server written in Perl must have quite a bit of hack value.
