ApacheCon 2009 Free Live Stream
The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) is holding ApacheCon US 2009 from November 2-6 in Oakland, California. The foundation for a free webserver is also celebrating its 10th birthday. In honor of this 10th birthday, the celebration includes three days of the conference program available as a FREE Live stream.
The ApacheCon US 2009 is expecting worldwide participants at the five-day conference, including foundation members, developers, users, and enterprises. The program is naturally dedicated primarily to the popular Apache HTTP server and promises exciting content on other topics as well.
Linux Pro Magazine Online – in partnership with Collabnet and The Apache Foundation – will live stream from ApacheCon US 2009 November 4-6. The ASF selected the Hadoop track on Wednesday, November 4 for the first live transmission. Among the speakers on the Hadoop open source Java framework is Apache co-founder Brian Behlendorf and developers Owen O'Malley and Tom White. Alan Gates will speak on "Becoming a Pig Developer."
Thursday, November 5 streams will cover the httpd.conf track. Product Line Architect for SSL products at Thawte, Rick Andrews, and security expert Sander Temme will report on current development. Thursday evening the "Lightning Talks" will be transmitted.
Jason Rutherglen ends the program on Friday, November 6 with a talk on "Realtime Search." The track under the name "Apache Lucene" also has talks by Ted Dunning, Isabel Drost and Sithu D. Sudarsan.
