Mozilla Submits Firefox Home App to Apple

Jul 01, 2010

Bring Firefox Sync to your Apple device.

The Mozilla Project announced that Firefox Home had been submitted to Apple's App Store and is awaiting approval.

Not a mobile version of the browser, Firefox Home is an extension of Firefox Sync. Using a sync account, users of the open source desktop browser can access their bookmarks, browser history, and tabs within the app itself or in Apple's Safari mobile browser. The app is free.

No word on how long Apple will take to approve the app, though Steve Jobs touted that 95 percent of apps are approved within a week, during his Worldwide Developers Conference keynote early this year. We'll keep you posted when Home goes live.
