New Network Attached Storage by Iomega
Iomega recently launched a new range of NAS servers in rack and desktop formats. The servers offer capacities of between 640GB and 3TB.
Storcenter Server Pro NAS 200r with capacities of 640GB and 1TB targets small to mid-caps. The 1TB version is also available with an integrated print server. Storcenter Server Pro NAS 150d with 3TB storage capacity is also targeted at mid-caps.
All of the models in the series have a Gigabit Ethernet port (10/100/1000 MBit/s). The servers have four SATA II disks, which can be configured for RAID 0 (striping), RAID 1 (mirroring) or RAID 5 (striping with parity). Each of the four disks in a RAID 1 or RAID 5 environment supports hot swapping. The 200r series servers are NAS devices in rack mountable format, which are sold as either Windows or Linux servers.
Prices for the Server StorCenter Pro NAS 150d with 3TB and 200r with 640GB start at 1315 euros plus VAT (rrp). The 1TB server in the 200r series will cost 1645 euros, with another 330 euros for print server functionality. The vendor site lists sources.
