Qt 4.7 Preview for N900
Qt developers have packaged a preview for the upcoming version 4.7 of the toolkit for the Maemo N900 smartphone. The software packages are intended for developers.
The announcement came from Qt developer Harald Fernengel in his blog, based on the many requests that came in from those who want to be on the "bleeding edge" of Qt technology. The Qt Maemo 5 source code repository now has the 4.7-fremantle branch for the purpose. Coworkers at Qt Labs also built Debian packages for Maemo 5 that can be downloaded by using wget on the command line.
Fernengel includes a small disclaimer: "This is a tech preview" intended exclusively for developers who want to try out new features. Also, the installation overwrites any existing Qt 4.6 files. All necessary links and commands are in the Qt Labs blog.
