The developers have produced a further update for users who are not willing or able to move to KDE 4: KDE 3.5.9 mainly comprises bug fixes, but also adds a couple of new functions to the desktop environment.

The biggest change to the second alpha version of Opensuse 11 has to be the inclusion of KDE 4, which now replaces the older KDE version 3.5.8.

The new KDE Version 4.0.1 is now available for downloading from the KDE project homepage. The release mainly comprises bugfixes, removing errors discovered in version 4.0.0, improving system performance and adding some new visual features.

In a keynote given at the world-wide release party, streamed online, Project Lead Aaron Seigo introduced the new version of KDE.
