Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring Is Sprung
Paris-based Mandriva announced the release of the final version of Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring.
Mandriva Spring 2009 includes a host of new functionalities, such as improved and more stable plasmoids, a consolidated windows manager, and the structuring of office by activity. Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring integrates the latest open source innovations, not only in office applications, Internet, and multimedia, but also in the new technologies of virtualization. Specifically, the new release includes major open source applications such as KDE 4.2.2, Gnome 2.26, Firefox 3, and X.org Server 1.6. and supports more than 70 languages.
“The new version of Mandriva Linux, Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring, adapts even better to the requirements of a work station, whatever the level of its user,” comments Anne Nicolas-Velu, Mandriva VP of Engineering.
Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring is available in three editions: Powerpack (the commercial edition), One (a Live CD that can also be installed to the system), and Free (an edition that contains only the free open source software).
All Mandriva Linux 2009 Spring editions will be available for download on April 29th, 2009.
