Fedora 20 "Heisenbug"
Fedora 20 "Heisenbug"
This month we present the newest version of Fedora, a Linux distribution sponsored by Red Hat that serves as the foundation of the commercial Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The nickname "Heisenbug" is a programming term for a software bug that changes with every effort to pin it down.
The Fedora Project has incorporated numerous improvements into this latest version. Perl is updated to v5.18, python-setuptools to v0.9.x, GLIBC to v2.18, and Ruby on Rails to v4.0. The Cinnamon desktop has a new applet for common user tasks and an improved Nemo file manager; Gnome version 3.10 now features a Gnome Maps application and a System Status Area that unifies many settings previously handled by multiple icons. KDE Plasma Workspaces 4.11 is the long-term release of the popular KDE desktop, featuring a battery widget with expanded functionality, customized notifications, and an improved KWin window manager.
