A good plan – and FOSS – can pave the way to the security, simplicity, and local financial benefit of tech sovereignty.

There is a big movement all over the world for governments and industries to move away from "non-sovereign" software and services, as well as storage of information in countries other than their own.

There are many reasons for this, some of which are tied to the huge amount of money flowing out of the country that could be redirected to people and companies inside their own country. This money would then create jobs for their citizens and would then generate more taxes for the governments to provide services, and so forth.

Other reasons are those of security, privacy, and the simple fact that the international software and service providers have to meet the laws of two or more countries instead of just their own country.
