Alpha replaces Beta: Another Test Version of Firefox 3

The seventh pre-release version of the upcoming Mozilla Firefox 3 browser (codename Gran Paradiso) includes new features and several bugfixes.

The list of new features and bugfixes is available on the Mozilla website. The "full page zoom" feature is one of the more notable innovations. It gives users the ability to zoom a complete webpage with text, layout and images.

If you are interesting in taking the new beta out for a trial run, the pre-release version is available from here for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. Linux users will need X.org version 7.0 or newer to avoid compatibility issues.

Mozilla has not yet disclosed the release date for the finished version, but the beta phase is running late and should have started in July based on initial planning. Another alpha version is in the pipeline for September.
