Bing Client Coming to Android Within the Next Six Weeks

Search the full Web with this new client.

Microsoft is working to deliver a search alternative to Google on Android smartphones, promising a Bing app within the next two months. Android users may already know that there is a Bing client available for Android, but it's limited toward mapping tasks and little else.

The new Bing client will offer the full functionality of Bing.com on desktops, allowing users to search the whole web for images, videos, news, and so forth. Microsoft continues to try to expand Bing's reach. The one-year-old search engine served up just under 13 percent of all searches performed last month, trailing Yahoo! and Google.
