CeBIT Open Source 2011: Call for Projects

For the third consecutive year, CeBIT Open Source invites projects to Hannover, Germany. The conference organizers and Linux Pro Magazine invite open source projects to apply for free exhibit space at CeBIT Open Source 2011.

At CeBIT Open Source 2010, the Mozilla booth was crowded most of the time.

CeBIT, the largest IT trade show on earth, will take place March 1-5 in Hannover, Germany. In 2009, the Deutsche Messe organization, which runs the annual trade show, announced the Open Source exhibit hall, and the volume of visitors to the packed area exceeded all expectations. Once again, Open Source projects will exhibit in Hall 2 at the 2011 CeBIT trade show site.

At CeBIT Open Source 2011, commercial enterprises, the Open Source Forum, and the Open Source Project Lounge will have the opportunity to present their work to the general public.

After talking to many visitors throughout CeBIT Open Source 2010, the Perl team was hoarse in the evening.

Linux Pro Magazine and Deutsche Messe invite projects who want to present their work at CeBIT Open Source 2011. An international jury of open source experts will decide which projects get the free exhibit space. Any open source project can apply now. Noncommercial projects with possible software applications in the industry will get priority consideration. The Call for Projects will run from now until November 30, 2010. The application forms are available on the Linux Pro Magazine site.

In addition to exhibit space, the winning projects will have the opportunity to present their work to a worldwide audience in Linux Pro Magazine and Linux Magazine. The award jury made up of international open source experts will select projects through middle of December, and winning projects will then be announced in the publications.
