Other papers in the FOSDEM '08 schedule are concerned with the programming languages PHP 6 and JRuby, and with software packaging using Klik, Packagekit and Conary. A Virtualization track contains talks on Xen, Virtualbox and OpenQRM, while the Web track looks at Mozilla’s Prism and other topics.

The many Developer Rooms will be hives of activity, with prolonged work sessions scheduled for free software projects such as Debian, Gnome, KDE and OpenOffice. The event will be held at the Solbosch campus of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (the Free University of Brussels). Entry is free of charge.
