Improved virus detection with ClamAV 0.94

The latest version of the open source anti-virus scanner, ClamAV 0.94, promises to improve virus detection rates with enhanced scanning capabilities.

The new version has a Disassembly Engine which will examine complex virus codes and help detect encrypted malware. Also, logical signatures are now supported by the Enhanced Detection Engine (EDE). This allows the signature database to contain variations of other signatures, enabling flexible matching of complex malware with combinations of AND, OR, and NOT.

New in version 0.94 is the Data Loss Prevention module (DLP), which scans incoming and outgoing mails for social security and credit card numbers, which alerts the user to the threat of identity theft. ClamAV 0.94 is licensed under the GPL and is available for download at the ClamAV website.
