Joe "Zonker" Brockmeier Leaves Novell

IT journalist and openSUSE Community Manager Joe "Zonker" Brockmeier announced that he is leaving Novell as of January 31.

Zonker announced his decision in his blog. After the openSUSE Conference and the release of openSUSE 11.2, Zonker reports that his crucial work on the project was over. "Working with Novell and the openSUSE community has been a great experience," he said, adding that "it is time to move on." Above all he was looking for an activity that didn't "involve quite so many airports."

On his blog Zonker says that he will continue to field questions even after January 31, and that he's not "dropping off the planet." However, queries about openSUSE should also start going to Michael Loeffler and Andreas Jaeger.
