Mandriva Fires Two Developers

Mandriva's financial situation appears to be none too rosy. At the end of the year, the distributor will terminate the employment of two of its freelance workers, Adam Williams, effectively the Community Manager, and Package Manager Oden Eriksson.

Both developers have written mails on the cooker mailing list, (Adam Williams, Oden Eriksson). While Adam Williams is considered by many to be the backbone of the Mandriva Community, Oden Eriksson has nurtured around 1200 packages, mainly in the server area, including the complete Lamp packages.

However, the Mandriva Community will not take this decision sitting down. A petition which aims to convince Mandriva to at least keep on Williams has been started at http://www.petitiononline.com.
