OpenSUSE Seeks Successor for ATI Driver Script Maintenance

Developer Stefan Dirsch is responsible for maintaining the openSUSE build scripts of the fglrx driver. In a message on the openSUSE developer mailing list, he appeals for a successor to take over the maintenance.

Users with ATI graphic cards have to rely on ATI/AMD proprietary drivers for 3D acceleration. The scripts are found in packages/SUSE when the ATI installer is extracted manually.

Among the benefits for the new maintainer are access to ATI's beta mailing list and early releases of the beta driver. The files are currently hosted in a git repository at phorox. Dirsch hopes to find someone whith not only the time to update the scripts, but who can also introduce new features.
