Today R1Soft announced the beta release of Hot Copy for Linux, a command-line utility that takes instant readable and writeable snapshots of disks or volumes on any Linux server.
According to the announcement, Hot Copy creates a point-in-time snapshot of the disk while the system is running. "Linux server admins need a simple command that allows snapshots on any Linux server at any time. This is what Hot Copy does," says David Wartell, Vice President of R1Soft.

Lee we truly appreciate your feedback regarding Hot Copy for Linux. Please note that HCP has been uploaded and distributed to many download communities including but not limited to Tucows, Download25, etc. If you do a google search on " HCP hot copy " you will find many alternative sites from which you can download the free utility.
We do obtain information on our behalf for updates and future releases primarily. If there is anything we can do to assist you in obtaining a "sign-up free" copy let us know. You may personally contact me regarding this mario @ r1soft.com.

I find it most annoying when you need to give a software vendor your life's information for a beta copy of "FREE Trial Software". I would rather live without it than be constantly pestered by their sales and marketing people about how I like the product and the guilt trip they try and lay on you when you ignore their sales pitch.
I just love it when you fill these things out and not twenty minutes later you get a cold call from one of these morons!
