Samba 3.5.0: Windows Timestamp and SMB2 Support Added

The current version of the Samba server coordinates better with Winbind and supports the experimental SMB2 protocol.

Apart from the complete support for Windows timestamp resolution, the new Samba adds encryption for CUPS printer connections. Winbind now operates asynchronously and a new vfs_scannedonly module was added as a filter that works alongside antivirus programs to ensure that only "clean" files are visible to users. Further details are in the release notes.

Samba 3.5.0 is available as complete packages for a variety of SUSE, Red Hat Linux and Debian. Downloads are from Sernet servers.
