Scorpio Blue Notebook Hard Drive Stores 750 GBytes on Two Disks
The 2.5" SATA Scorpio Blue hard drive from Western Digital has the highest storage capacity of any notebook drive, according to its maker.
The data density of the WD Scorpio Blue mobile hard drive is 375 GBytes per disk, so that the two disks can store 750 GBytes on a drive that is a mere 0.374 inches high. A buffer size of 8 MBytes and a rotational speed of 5,400 RPM add to the specifications. Western Digital has contributed a number of new technologies to the drive. These include Advanced Format, WhisperDrive capacity enhancement, search optimization, ShockGuard, and SecurePark to park the write/read head in a secure position off the disk surface when not in use.

The drive with the model number WD7500BPVT is available at selected outlets. Western Digital suggests a retail price of $149 and provides a three-year limited warranty.
