Tiny Core Linux in Version 2

The ultra-minimalist Linux desktop is now available in version 2.0. Main develop Robert Shingledecker, already known for Damn Small Linux (DSL), has officially announced it.

Tiny Core Linux is true to its name: 10 MB, which means it can run entirely in RAM. It's based on Kernel 2.6, Busybox, Tiny X, Fltk and the Jwm window manager. With Tiny X it even contains a minimalist X Server, although a no-X version called Micro Core Linux is also on hand.

Because drivers are hardly needed, Tiny Core offers the possibility to expand only the mini-Linux kernel mode and software required for the target machine. The result is ultimately the slimmest system imaginable in terms of resources, in any case more optimal by delarding the more conventional distros.

The changelog for Tiny Core 2.0 is on the project's Forum page.
