The first and last release candidate for Ubuntu 9.10 is now available for download.
Optically, not much has changed since the last beta version, developers have been busy with bugfixes and package updates. Gnome now comes in version 2.28.1. The release notes are also ready and describe in detail latest changes in Ubuntu 9.10 and the upgrade procedure. Most systems will be able to call up ''update-manager -d'' and follow further instructions.
Although this latest release calls itself Ubuntu 9.10, anyone running a productive system are advised to wait for the final release on October 29, while Canonical use this week to fix some last minute bugs.
