openSUSE.org announced the release of openSUSE 11.3. New to the open source operating system is netbook support, in the form of two new netbook desktop environments. KDE's Plasma Netbook Workspace is one environment, but possibly more interesting is the MeeGo project's MeeGo On openSUSE, which features baked-in social networking features and access to Amazon.com's MP3 store. openSUSE 11.3 also adds support for iOS, Android, and Blackberry operating systems.
The other major addition for openSUSE 11.3 comes in the form of SpiderOak, a could sync and backup service akin to Ubuntu One. SpiderOak allows 2 GBs of free storage with an additon US$ 10 per 100 GBs.
openSUSE can be freely downloaded at software.opensuse.org. A retail version complete with documentation, installation media and 90 days of customer service is also available.
