Now Serving Fresh Kernels: Linux.com Store Launches
ROSE Blog: Rikki's Open Source Exchange
Linux.com is launching a new online store, which includes t-shirts, baby onesies, stickers, and coffee mugs. According to the announcement:
All revenue generated from the Linux.com Store will go directly towards Linux Foundation activities, events and strategic initiatives. The Linux Foundation uses funds from a variety of revenue streams to support the work of Linux creator Linus Torvalds and to sustain important services such as technical events; travel grants for open source community members; a vendor-neutral forum for projects such as MeeGo; and free training resources direct from the kernel community; among others.
I commend them for having an ear of corn on the "Fresh Kernels" design. It's not every day that you find a shirt that says both "farm fresh" and "geek".
Although there are many shirt designs available on the Linux.com site, there's only one t-shirt cut/style available right now. (But maybe with enough demand they'll add some other t-shirt styles to the mix.)
In addition to the t-shirt designs online now, the Linux Foundation is looking for new designs. If you have a clever design idea to throw into the mix, you can submit your idea to the design contest – the community votes, then you get fame and recognition.
