Varicad 2010 Released
VariCAD is a universal CAD solution for mechanical engineering. The new version of the proprietary software includes a new user interface.
VariCAD is considered one of the foremost in Linux compatible CAD programs. The just released Version 2010 1.01 has an improved user interface and new modeling and drafting tools. In addition, developers have refined the import from STEP data, while a mini data terminal in the lower left hand corner allows users to enter commands.
VariCAD supports files from other CAD systems including STEP, STL, IGES, WDG, and DXF. In addition to the full version (available for a fee), a 30-day trial version is available for download over the website in DEB and RPM format for 32 and 64 bit systems. Those who would like to download but don’t want to bother with registering over the VariCAD site, can do so via the kde-apps.org site.
