Avian 0.4 Virtual Machine Now Available

Avian 0.4 is a portable virtual machine (VM) that utilizes subsets of Java's features.

Avian supports i386, x86_64 (Linux, Windows, Mac OS X) and PowerPC (Mac OS X) and new with the 0.4 release is support for Linux on the ARM. Other new features include using the OpenJDK class library as an alternative to the Avian class library.

While the VM is written in C++, it doesn't depend on the C++ standard library; however, it does depend on the third-party zlib library.

More information on this release can be found on the Avian website.
