Document Foundation and KDE Join Open Invention Network

KDE and The Document Foundation (LibreOffice), have joined the Open Invention Network (OIN) as licensees.

By becoming licensees, both organizations help OIN defend open source from the risks associated to software patents.

OIN posses a vast patent portfolio and these patents are to available to The Document Foundation, KDE, and all other licensees as part of the support to free software.

More information about the Open Invention Network, the OIN Community of Licencees, and the patents which are owned by OIN can be found on the OIN Website.
