LinuxCon: Linux Foundation Conference Set for September 2009

Brian Proffitt, who joined the Linux Foundation as Community Manager in July, has announced a LinuxCon technical conference for his organization this coming year in Portland, Oregon

The conference's target audience includes kernel developers, end users, and the Linux community. Developers, vendors, and "everyone with a stake in Linux" are welcome. According to the event announcement, "It's a big tent and we want all you inside."

The conference will be annual, starting September 2009.

LinuxCon will have a technical focus and include mini-summits, sessions, tutorials, keynotes, and showcases that "will be very open in terms of content provided," says Brian Proffitt in his blog.
