Moonlight 2.0 Enters Test Phase

The first beta version of Moonlight 2.0 has been released. Moonlight is the free counterpart to Silverlight, Microsoft-Novell's attempt to rival Flash.

Moonlight provides adaptive streaming for Linux testers, thanks to streams supporting sources other than just HTTP.

Moonlight is under LPGL and is downloadable to 32-bit and 64-bit Linux platforms. What applied to the preview also applies to the beta: the technology is still missing security functions. Thus testing the Beta 1 should occur in a secure environment. The release notes provide installation help. Downloads are at the go-mono.com website.
