The Google search engine folks officially presented their Nexus smartphone based on Android on January 5.
Strategically placed just before the start of the Consumer Electronics Show 2010 in Las Vegas, the Nexus One jointly developed with smartphone maker HTC should be presented to a select group. As can be expected, however, a few of the devices are already in circulation; the NexusOneBlog already has a review out.
The device comes with Android 2.1 on Qualcomm's Snapdragon platform and has all the usual features. A lack of multitouch may disappoint some. Google wants to sell the smartphone without a binding contract, $600 is being considered. Rumor has it that a T-Mobile contract option may be in the works in the U.S.
